This is the biggest crayfish we have seen in this stream. He was very healthy. He was 8 inches long.
In a freshwater steam by a wooded greenway. The crayfish was hiding in the side of the stream.
We know it is a crayfish but we don't know the specific type. Alabama is home to 97 crayfish!
