Spotting

Description:

I have several oak trees on my property. I have several of these fungi growing. My trees were doing well for years. But now they appear “some” sick. Or weakened. Today I saw these two, in the pictures creating a white mist after a heavy rainstorm. I began to Google and this is where I am now. I’m not sure what kind they are.

Habitat:

Small city. Wooded backyard, ditch with water, owls, hawks, Ingrids, blue herons, roaches, dragonflies and bats! And monarchs. It’s a region of texas that has been hit by several hurricanes and we had a hard freeze this past February 2021.

Notes:

I apologize, this is new. However I am intrigued with wonder. And very curious about this. I don’t want to loose my trees nor kill the fungus if it preventable.
