Green Frog

Lithobates clamitans

Description:

Green and brown skin. Prominent ridges down the sides of the back. Large tympanum behind eye. We could hear the distinctive "plucked banjo string" call all around the area. These were found in semi-permanent puddles, near a river.

Habitat:

semi-permanent puddle (in track of an abandoned tractor path)
