Sanguinaria canadensis

Description:

A lovely native plant found numerously in Spring in North America, Sanguinaria canadensis, Bloodroot, gets its genus and common name from the bright orange red of the plant's roots.

Habitat:

Numerously found on my forest walk, usually in moist areas with not much sun.
