Plant Bug

Tupiocoris californicus

Description:

This plant bug appeared to be attacking this green nymph but none of the photo's see the actual penetration. It could be forcibly pushing it away. Small, narrow plant but with black head and thorax. There is a yellow diamond in the middle of the thorax. The wings are clear with two red triangles in the middle. There is yellow triangles just underneath. The "neck" has a white band. Legs are yellow.

Habitat:

Chaparral. This species is found from southern Oregon to Baja California. You can see an Assassin Bug and this bug on the plant.
