Description:

Mushroom: I went over to a friends house, and on her front porch, she had a plant container. In this plant container, she was growing some small green plants. One day, three small mushrooms, started growing in this plant container too. All three mushrooms, were of the same species. One mushroom cap, was five eights of an inch wide, and five eights of an inch long. The stalk was three fourth of an inch long. Underneath the cap, was the gills. The gills were orange in color, and the gills were also very wavy. The gills went from the ends of the cap, to the top of the stem. The edges of the cap, was scalloped. A mushroom ( or Toadstool ), is the fleshy, spore-bearing, fruiting body of a fungus. All mushrooms belong to the Fungi kingdom. Mycology, is the branch of biology, that deals with the study of Fungi. The organisms in the kingdom Fungi, include: mushrooms, yeasts, molds, rusts, smuts, puffballs, truffles, morels, and molds. Over 70,000 species of Fungi, has been identified. Fungi, reproduce by the means of spores. Fungi, are classified into four divisions: Division Ascomycota: Sac Fungi Division Basidiomycota: Club Fungi Division Zygomycota: Zygote forming Fungi Division Deuteromycota: Imperfect Fungi Mushroom: is a fungal growth, that typically takes the form of a domed cap, on a stalk.

Habitat:

Fungi live everywhere. In air, in water, on land, in soil, and on or in plants and animals. Fungi, can be found, in just about any habitat, from sea water to fresh water, in soil, on plants and animals, on human skin, etc. Woods and meadows, are the best place to hunt for Fungi. Over 80 per cent of Fungi, are associated with trees. Also, open grassy places and animal dung. Fungi, are common in woodlands, because of all the rotten wood and leaf litter, that Fungi feed on. Many Fungi, are associated with trees and tree roots. Soil type, is another important factor for Fungi.
