Honey bee

Apis mellifera

Description:

Honey bees have many different colors, but the common colors are black, brown and yellow. They have little hairs on their body (mainly their abdomen). This bee was flying between flowers in Tecolote Memorial Garden (just above Tecolote Canyon)!

Habitat:

Honey bees live in tropical climates and forest areas. They can thrive in natural environments, but they prefer living in gardens and orchards that have plenty of flowering plants. In their habitat they build nests to protect and hide themselves from predators!

Notes:

I was walking back from the gym and I saw this bee!
