Western Meadowlark

Description:

Usually this bird is seen perched a few feet above the ground (fenceposts) not at the lake. they nest on the ground and lay 3-7 eggs. They are about 9 inches long and have a lovely unmistakable call.

Habitat:

A small lake in a very dry plains region.

Notes:

After this fellow was done singing in the bath a friend came by and two flew off on a date.
