That is certainly a better match David. I hope someone can confirm or help you further. I am familiar with European plants but unfortunately not American ones.

False Rue Anemone ( isopyrum biternatum ) perhaps?

Hi everyone! The leaves and number of petals are wrong for Anemona nemorosa. Anemona nemorosa is also European species.

Thanks, Linnea. Doing some old fence removal with a gang of volunteers and I want to be able to identify and protect the spring ephemerals around the project site as much as possible.
