I found this on... goldenrod... I think... there were many aphids clumped together, and not moving, so I wasn't surprised to find farmer ants. I WAS surprised to find this very brightly coloured insect in the mix, and I can't figure out what it is, or why it's there.
Desert like region of Alberta near Saskatchewan.

Ceresa nymph I think... I haven't found one that's not green.
