Atlas Moth Caterpillar

Description:

Its a huge caterpillar.... At times it stretches to more then 6 inch. Refer to photos.

Notes:

Was taking a break with my wife after taking our 4 yr old dauther for an outing at the park. Saw this huge caterpillar going down a tree. Its longer then my wife's palm when it was at its longest stretch. Thought it was alone but when I look up... there was a bunch of them. Basically they are all coming down looking for new tree after nearly stripping the current trees out of its leaves.
