Black with light yellow spots and bars. Typical paper wasp nest attached with small stem, visible in second picture.
Organic vegetable sem-enclosed garden attached to wooden trim on edge of roof. Gets 20 degrees F hotter than ambient environment on a sunny day. Nest is near the roof, where temperatures are highest. Water is present.
Three wasps spotted. Most cells of nest are sealed. Pictures taken at dawn, the first with flash.
