Western Patchnose Snake

Salvadora Hexalepis

Description:

I spotted this guy while driving on a dirt road. I stopped to be sure I didn't run it over. It wouldn't budge, so I grabbed my camera, took a few photos, then tickled it's tail to encourage it to slither off the road to safety.

Habitat:

Sonoran Desert Scrub, bajada of the Tucson Mountains.
