I cannot get a good shot of this bug its just too fast moving. About 4mm body diameter.
High elevation forest margin.
Thank you bayucca for the ID I agree with you its identical with ZebulonHoover's spotting. I also updated the photos. There's a lot of it right now here in our place infesting some trees.
Coccinellidae, Heteroneda sp., it is either Heteroneda billardieri or Heteroneda reticulata. I am not sure how trustable other IDs on the net are (probably not very trustable), so I would go with the species, unless an expert can confirm either Billiardi or Reticulata. Maybe the range might help?http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Catego...http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/750...http://www.natureloveyou.sg/Minibeast-Be...I just looked at the comments on this one:http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/113...IDed as Heteroneda billardieri, based on an ID from an entomologist. Please, check all the links and read the comments on the ones from project Noah...http://www.science.upm.edu.my/biology/ab...
