Pine Snake

Pituophis melanoleucus

Description:

These are actually two snakes. One adult male and one adult female, a breeding pair. Both 120 + centimeters. The female was in great condition but the male had a bad sore on his face.

Habitat:

Pine Barrens , near human habitation but also near a wooded area. Plenty of debris was in the area that likely served as shelter for both snakes. A designated Pine snake nest is nearby.

Notes:

This male has been found before and it was very likely that a female was living in the vicinity. It is near an official Pine snake nest and they have both likely seen plenty of human activity in the area from both wildlife watchers and casual passersby.
