Flower Crab Spider

Misumena fidelis

Description:

Flower Crab Spiders wait for prey to land nearby on a flower's surface, using their stealth to acquire food instead of spinning a web.

Habitat:

Old field

Notes:

Spider is sitting on a Queen Anne's Lace flower - I've noticed this species of spider seems to prefer the Queen Anne's Lace over most other flowers in my area.
