Description:

Common snappers are noted for their belligerent disposition when out of the water, their powerful beak-like jaws, and their highly mobile head and neck.

Habitat:

I found this turtle (and Painted Turtle friends) in the C&O Canal near Cumberland, MD. At first I thought he was a log because he is covered in muck!
