The new antlers are still forming, covered in their velvety down and are very sensitive. Disputes are resolved by seeing who's the tallest and then if that doesn't sort out the issues a boxing match with razor sharp hooves follows.

I wish there was a reply button on Noah!
I generally use a 70-200 but sometimes that's too long so I switch to a 17-35 and sometimes even 20mm :) I am very careful however and have been photographing these deer for many years. Thank you.
