A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Turdus migratorius
9" to 11" gray bird with rusty red chest, nearly black head and tail, and black streaks on white chin. White ring around eye.
Found in Alaska, Canada and all of the United States. Common in urban areas, prairies, and deciduous forests. Food is largely earthworms, caterpillars, beetles, and other insects. They also eat fruit and berries.
About 50 robins were spotted near the open area near the boat access at Cotton Lake. They seemed to be migrating through the area.
