Polyphemus Moth (male)

Antheraea polyphemus

Description:

Newly emerged! I've been caring for this cocoon all winter (since October), and today (Easter, appropriately enough) he came out. He emerged in the early afternoon, spent the day resting and getting his wings ready, and at dusk, he flew away. An amazing animal :)
