Description:

Columnar cactus, but canot grow too tall (4 m) since its stem is very narrow (about 5 cm diameter).

Habitat:

Spiny scrublands and dwar tropical dry forests from northern Yucatán, the driest part of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Notes:

Just next to the entrance to the Museo del Pueblo Maya (Mayan People's Museum) at the archeological site of Dzibichaltún (place with writings in the stone).
