This looks very much like a copperhead to me. Yet blacks and Browns cannot be excluded. It has been a good season for snakes (meaning prolific) but they sure are hard to photograph.
i really dont know JeffreyMartin, i have had a friend tell me a copperhead, another say a brown snake and another say its a black snake, so i have no idea

Could it be an Australian Copperhead?
Probably 1.5m , so big enough
So not a daily occurrence then (sort of phew!). Looks like largeish scales? Maybe an un-patterned tiger? Nice find anyway. How long was it?
I have lived in the hills for about 25 years and it's the first one I have come across Mark, just annoyed I didn't get a better photo
Hmm.. we've been walking around those streets for 18 years now and haven't seen a snake. There's still hope then ! :)
