Shy bird. the male is a shiny purple; female is more dull.Bill and casque blood red-brown.

Habitat:

Marshy, swampy land.

Notes:

Shy and wary bird that walks around a lot on the aquatic vegetation. I understand that these are eaten...maybe that is why they are wary.
