Adult cicada - Brood II
Nymph lives in the ground for 17 years. Then, emerges, sheds its skin, mates, and dies.
This is the only live cicada anyone has seen in my neighborhood. We believe the birds are eating them cicada nymphs as soon as they emerge from the ground.
