That's fine to keep them separate since they were spotted at different times. You did it right!
They probably are the same, but I saw a note saying "please post only photos from the same spotting" somewhere, so I kept them separate because they were not the same individual at the same time.
Neat butterfly! This is not a skipper but I am not sure exactly what it is.It reminds me of Genus Anaea (Leafwings):http://bugguide.net/node/view/5434/bgpag...Take a look and see. I think there is a good chance that this butterfly and your other "Brown Skipper" are the same species.
