Red Salamander

Description:

The red salamander (Pseudotriton ruber) is a species of salamander in the Plethodontidae family. It is endemic to the United States. Its skin is orange/red in color with random black spots. Its habitats are temperate forests, small creeks, ponds, forests, temperate shrubland, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater, trees springs. It is threatened by habitat loss. Red salamanders eat insects, spiders and smaller salamanders.
