Striped Maple

Acer pensylvanicum

Description:

The leaves were just beginning to bud out.

Habitat:

Mixed woods, hilltop, edge of ravine.

Notes:

This was the biggest tree of this species that I found in the area. Most were very small saplings that could not have been more than a few years old.
