Cypripedium montanum
Check out this beautiful orchid! Lady's Slippers like this one lure bees into their "pouch" with color and scent. When the duped bee discovers there's no actual nectar and leaves through the lip, it bumps up against the reproductive structures and carries away pollen, hopefully to another flower.
High-elevation woods of western North America.
Location is approximate - I was on a tour with a group of stakeholders and lost track of where exactly we were. Somewhere in the Umatilla National Forest north of La Grande!
