This photo was taken in Burnt Mountain Preserve, in Burnt Mountain, GA. The trails are actually very very steep which makes it not a popular spot but great for nature spottings and I enjoyed it being mainly untouched. I had went off the marked trail and up an old logging road that lead to an old equestrian trail, and that is where I found this flower. Too steep for kids to enjoy..
2 good places to hike with kids would be Long Creek Falls (Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKaye), and Raven Cliff Falls. Happy Hiking : )

Hi theblueeyedgurl ! I live in GA too and I'm always on the lookout for new places to hike with my kids. Would you mind telling what park or wilderness area you were in?
