Northern Watersnake

Nerodia Sipedon

Description:

This snake was approx 60cm and among the rocks in the shore.

Notes:

It fled a bit from us when we first saw it , but while we were taking photos it turned back towards us so we left immediately. Not sure if it was poisonous or not.

I've heard water snakes have a nasty temper too. Good thing they arent venomous.

This is not a venomous snake, it is a Northern Watersnake which while it can bite it won't hurt very much. As with all wild animals though it is best to leave them alone unless you are sure of what your dealing with.
