Desert Horned Lizard

Phrynosoma (Doliosaurus) platyrhinos

Description:

Small to medium sized lizard with off-white horns behind and to the side of the head, darker horns on its back and a spiky tail. Stripe runs the length of its back, and there are four short white markings on the back (two on each side).

Habitat:

Spotted in sandy ground around Horseshoe bend in Arizona.
