Nephila pilipes (melanistic form )
The images that I saw that were labeled melanistic, the majority had black legs. All the Kuhlii images that I have seen, have red legs. So, I still think this is Kuhlii, but I would like Atul to come back to the discussion, perhaps with more information.

Thank you Atul for the ID, and thank you Karan this was about 2 inches from pedipalp to the spinneret, and whish you a good spider spotting.
folicallychalled, thank very much and find it interesting they both nephila Kuhlii and Nephila pilipes looks same. Could someone tell me the difference.
Thank you Jeffperi.
My first thought was nephila Kuhlii.
Interesting suggestion by Atul, as when I look through my Kuhlii folder of images, I have often thought that the pilipes livery was faintly visible. It raises the question, is Kuhlii a species or merely a melanistic pilipes.
