I did some looking because the snowberry didn't look quite right and think it's a western snowberry
Ok, I guess I assumed it was a forb. I can't tell from the pic if the leaves are opposite, but if so, I think it's probably snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus).
You know, you're right. Do you have a picture of the whole plant?
I don't know, spreading Dogbane doesn't have the fussy stuff that is has and this has a different stigma
