He is in a car because he was found on a four-lane state highway in the middle of a torrential downpour and I couldn't see a water source anywhere nearby. So I dumped him in my car and we drove to the Flint River. Took 4 people from the Flint Riverquarium to get him to disengage his claws from my back seat (where he'd crawled from the front floorboards) and put him in a bin and carry him down to the river. Weight estimate = 30 pounds.

Hi greenfroggii. Welcome to Project Noah!

That is an impressive looking turtle. Can you tell us a bit more about what is going on here? Why is the turtle in a car? This information can be put in the "Description" section of your spotting (use the " Edit this spotting" button). You can add the scientific name as well at that time.

I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do! If you haven't done so already, please take a few minutes to read the FAQ page: http://www.projectnoah.org/faq

You have a nice start!
