Small Milkweed Bug

Lygaeus kalmii

Description:

Dark gray bug about 10 mm long with a black heart shape on the top and a dark orange "X" band. There are large white spots on the forewing (common on western specimens). The head has a red spot between the eyes.

Habitat:

Oleander in the backyard. Found throughout the US, Canada and Mexico.

Notes:

I think the pattern is what the Roxy brand logo was based off of ;)
