Toxostoma rufum
This baby brown thrasher fell into my 5 year old daughters lap from its nest in the tree over her head. Then two more came Dom. They could barely walk a few steps before falling, but then we noticed a big hawk swoop down. The mother was very overwhelmed by all thr people around my daughter at the pool party. We think maybe the mom booted the babies from their nest because she noticed the hawk eyeing her babies?
Forest, nest about 20ft off ground
Baby Thrashers are known to leave their nests earlier than other birds, such as mockingbirds.
