Spilostethus pandurus
Spilostethus pandurus is a species of ground bugs belonging to the family Lygaeidae, subfamily Lygaeinae. It is a red and black bug showing a white dot on the centre of the wing membrane. It has two wide black and wavy longitudinal bands running from the front to the rear of the pronotum. This species which feeds on flowers, seeds and plants can cause damaged to the crops.
It is easy to find in grasslands in roadsides, edges of cultivation, irrigation, etc. These bugs have a preference for calcareous soils.
I only know about this insect is that it is a Hemipteran.
Hmm, I think Lenny is correct, looks for me also rather like Pandurus than Hospes. The markings are slightly different.
Thanks for suggestion Mr. Chthuranga but it's not a seed bud or milkweed either. It's different from them.
