Hi callawa37! Thank you for telling us more about your school project. My comment indicated the spotting would be OK if the fish was released. I did ask after consulting with colleagues, as there was no information on the spotting. Our guidelines relate to hunting and fishing trophies, not catch-and-release. As a Project Noah ranger it is one of my roles to make sure spottings on this site comply with our rules, and to guide all users to the appropriate information when in doubt. Thank you for your understanding.
DanielePralong, KHS students have been instructed to follow ethical, catch-and-release guidelines. They have to find certain organisms as part of their school project. I do not see any reason for others to be offended, as game wardens and conservationists in Texas do this on a regular basis to help track and document organisms.
Hi Kirbyville CISD! Was this fish released after catching? If not, we ask you kindly to remove this spotting. From our FAQ page:
