My plant is a bush with many stalks. Each stalk has numerous purple flowers.

Habitat:

My plant is native to Western United States. It does not require much watering.

Notes:

I think this is a good plant for pollinators because it has bright flowers. Also, I have seen bees buzzing around our plants.

That's sounds like a great plan for an experiment! Do you have any other pollinator plants in the yard of varying colors that you could monitor to see if flower color has any correlation to the amount of pollinators?

We could take different colored flowers of the same species, like tulips. Then, see which color gets the most pollinators.

Hi Bradley M! It's awesome that you saw bees buzzing around your plants!

You hypothesize that the pollinators like the bright flowers of the plant. Can you think of a way you could test that? Are there other flowers to compare it to?

You're right! Not only is the Purple Wood Sage nice to look at but it's also a great pollinator friendly plant and attractive to butterflies and native bees!
