Superficially these insects resemble beetles but they are actually shield bugs in the Family Plataspidae or Plataspididae. See http://eol.org/pages/2645348/overview. PROVISIONALLY, "black bean bugs." Brachyplatys sp. See http://www.pestnet.org/SummariesofMessag... AND http://www.faperta.ugm.ac.id/perlintan20... Another possible genus is Coptosoma http://eol.org/pages/3741324/overview

The FOBI website of Indonesian wildlife spottings has some photos of Brachyplatys and perhaps Coptosoma but that site seems to have gone off line so can't check there. These links make me open to Brachyplatys http://www.pestnet.org/SummariesofMessag... AND http://www.faperta.ugm.ac.id/perlintan20...
or Coptosoma sp. ?
