Texas Spiny Lizard

Sceloporus olivaceus

Description:

Dorsal ground color is reddish brown. Dorsal pattern varies widely. Males have blue patch on each side of belly and light dorsolateral stripes; adult females have wavy dark lines on dorsum and perhaps on legs near body.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat yard.

Notes:

I saw this lizard dart across the driveway and grab something. You can see what looks like legs hanging out of its mouth.
