Hi, jan.deatherage. It looks like some member of genus Trifolium ... but maybe not the plain old "white clover" that grows in yards and fields. Your plant is "leggier" and the leaves are different. I'm sending you a link to Wikipedia's Trifolium page, lots of species, I'm afraid. A website about Texas flora could probably give you a better look at what's common in your area, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clover.
