Description:

Thin body with stripes fading from (head) red to yellow to blue (tail). It looks like a blue-tailed skink but it was found in Southern California.

This is not a Five-lined Skink as they are not native in California. Skinks have a much shorter, broader tail than whiptails. The hind toes on whiptails are much longer as well. This is a juvenile.
