I wish I could have got a better photo but we were too far away and it was last minute. This bird was sitting in the water, it had an orange beak and was a dark Colour. It was fairly large in size. I'm not sure if anyone will be able to identify it or not

Was it diving in the water? I have possibly seen these in Lake Erie and have been trying to figure out what they were.
