Schistocerca sp.
Bright and shiny, yellow, juvenile grasshopper that just molted its exoskeleton.
Evergreen bush in backyard this evening
The moulted shell (exuviae) can be seen at my other spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/370...

Hi Emma, I suspect this is a Gray Bird Grasshopper (pending confirmation). If so, there is some variation in coloration. Since this one just moulted, it hasn't darkened yet. Here's a juvenile with different coloration: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/309... and an adult at: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/175...
what is the color when they are not molted?
