Chinese Mantis

Tenodera sinensis

Description:

3 inch long, brown mantis

Habitat:

Tall grasses in a rural yard

Notes:

This mantis caught and started to eat a moth while I watched. It was strange to see it eat the legs too! And it was covered from hair from the moth by the time it was finished.

Thanks Adarsha and Rieko! It was a little disturbing to watch it catch and eat the moth though.
