Actaea rubra (Buttercup Family)
The Red Baneberry grows to be between one and two feet in height. It can be found growing in shaded woodlands and thickets. If there is a woodland spring nearby, one is likely to find a Red Baneberry growing in the shadows beside it. Tiny white flowers are arranged in a dense cluster at the end of a stem. Each individual flower has from four to ten petals and numerous white stamens which tend to give it a feathery appearance.
