White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

White tailed Deer A white tailed deer can be anywhere from six to eight feet in size. The average life span for a white tailed deer is six to fourteen years. These deer can weigh anywhere from 110 to 300 pounds. In the summer they tend to use forests that are covered with leaves for shade. During the winter they make use of the forest to stay because of the thick layers of branches and leaves that block the cold snow, so they can keep warm.
