Leptasterias hexactis
I'm not 100% sure this isn't Leptasterias alaskensis, but the spines looks more pronounced on this. Leptasterias hexactis has row of larger rounded spines running down each arm unlike. L. alaskensis.
I lifted up a large boulder at the water's edge and found a treasure trove of life! I put it down gently after getting a good look at the life living there- starfish, snails, hermit crabs, barnacles, worms, a gunnel, an urchin, and plenty of marine isopods. On the edge of the beach on Popof Island
