Spotted Orb Weaver

Neoscona Crucifera

Description:

About the size of silver dollar when legs extended. Hairy orange and black banded legs. Hairy body. 2 white spots on abdomen. Light pattern on back of abdomen. Moves quickly.

Notes:

I caught this one on the side of my travel trailer near the awning. I have tried for days to catch him in the daylight with no luck, so I had to take this one at dusk. I caught it catching prey and wrapping it in silk. I added the picture (although dark) to see spider size in relation to a tree frog.
